I was born in Florence, South Carolina and attended schools in Florence District One.  I attended Wallace-Gregg Elementary and McClenaghan Junior High.  After graduating from South Florence High School in 1981, I earned a degree in education from Francis Marion College.

I began my teaching career at Williams Middle School in Florence.  In 1998, I moved to Greenville, South Carolina and taught at League Academy and Bethel Elementary Schools.  In 2012, I decided to move back home and began teaching at Greenwood Elementary School.  This is my thirty-seventh year of teaching!
