Ms. Candice Weithers
With over sixteen years of service to the children of South Carolina’s public schools, Ms. Candice Weithers continues to find teaching to be one of the most rewarding experiences of her life. Ms. Weithers has taught students in grades 1-6 throughout her career and is currently a 6th grade social studies teacher at Greenwood Elementary School. She is a native of Brooklyn, New York but began her teaching career in Orangeburg, South Carolina after receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from South Carolina State University. She also possesses a Master of Education Degree in Educational Studies with an emphasis in teacher leadership from Claflin University and recently earned an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration.
Ms. Weithers is grateful for the opportunity that she is provided each day to inspire and empower young learners. She demonstrated her ability as an accomplished teacher by achieving National Board Certification in 2011. She attributes much of her success in the classroom to the valuable relationships that she has built with students, parents, and colleagues. Ms. Weithers is excited about continuing her journey in the field of education and looks forward to making an even greater impact on the quality of teaching and learning in the future.
