Degrees and Certifications:
I am Quenton Martin, a first-year educator here at Wallace-Gregg Elementary School (WGES). I have previously served the students and families at Manning Elementary School in Manning, South Carolina, for three years, teaching fourth grade (all subjects) and sixth grade English Language Arts and Social Studies. I hail from Tuscaloosa, Alabama and I am a proud product of the Alabama Public School System. After high school, I enrolled at Troy University in Troy, Alabama where I majored in Social Science with concentrations in History, Political Science, and Sociology with a minor in Hospitality Management (Cum Laude, 2016). I am currently completing graduate coursework at Grand Canyon University in an effort to pursue doctoral work in the coming year. Prior to education, I worked for the state of Tennessee Department of Human Services as an Eligibility Counselor, serving the neediest of Tennessians in the Nashville Metropolitan Area.
Education is one of my foremost passions, and as an educator, I have the privilege to serve your student(s) alongside you in hopes that learning will unlock their true potential and imagination. With that being stated, I want you to know that this academic year will be challenging yet rewarding and it will take us all working together to ensure that students at WGES are afforded the best education possible. I have adopted the educational philosophy that “every child can, with modifications” and I hope that you can adopt that thought into your personal beliefs as well. I truly have come to understand that all educational goals are possible to achieve with intentional hard work and strategy.
