  • Federal Broadband Discount for Students and Families

    The Federal Communications Commission has launched a temporary program to help families and households struggling to afford Internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Emergency Broadband Benefit provides a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers. Eligible households can enroll through a participating broadband provider or directly with the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) using an online or mail in application. You can learn more about the benefit, including eligibility and enrollment information, by visiting www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit, or by calling 833-511-0311.

  • Florence 1 School Night with the RedWolves

    The Florence RedWolves have joined with F1S in a fundraiser for each school. This is an opportunity for F1S to fundraise and enjoy a night out at the ballpark with fun for students, family and friends. Tickets are $10 and includes a hot dog and soda/water as well as a hat. The game is on June 11th at 7pm against the Wilmington Sharks. Students will be able to participate throughout the game as well as in the activities during the game. Get your list of names and money and have your child bring the money to the school by May 27th to get the tickets ordered.

    Sixth grade REACH students planned, created and tested their toothpick bridge. The students went through the entire engineering process to understand how construction projects work.

    Too many absences - excused or unexcused - can keep students from succeeding in school and life. How many are too many? 10% of the school year - that's 18 missed days or 2 days a month - can knock students off track.

  • International Baccaluareate Program Recruiting Students for Middle Years Program

    Williams Middle Schools, an International Baccalaureate World School, is currently recruiting students for admission into its International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (MYP) for the 2021-2022 school year.
